ATEX NORM 2014/34/UE
ATEX is a French acronym standing for Atmosphères Explosives (Explosive ATmospheres)
The directive ATEX 2014/34/UE (former 94/9/CE) is implemented on any potentially explosive atmosphere equipment (electrical, non-electrical, industrial assembling machines, safety systems) and marked.
Its application has been mandatory on the European Union's market since July of 2003.
Equipment included in the ATEX Directive is listed by group depending on their expected usage and duration/frequency of the explosive atmosphere occurrence.
